Al-Sudani Receives Delegation from Baker Institute in Houston Texas

    Today, Thursday, in Houston, Texas, Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani welcomed a delegation from the Baker Institute for public policy, affiliated with Rice University, at his residence in Houston, Texas during his official visit to the United States.
     
    The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA):”The meeting focused on exploring cooperation mechanisms in conducting studies, training, human development, and staff qualification, as well as collaborating on studies concerning the oil market.”
     
    During the meeting, Prime Minister Al Sudani discussed,” the government's plans to expand the petrochemical industry with several projects and outlined a strategy to convert 40% of oil into petroleum products.”
     
     He emphasized,” Iraq's aspirations to increase and develop its oil exports in a balanced way that safeguards the interests of both producers and consumers.”
     
    The delegation from the Baker Institute expressed their readiness to cooperate with Iraq in training energy sector leaders and providing scholarships for Iraqi postgraduate students specializing in energy technology. 
     
    They also expressed their willingness to assist in developing a comprehensive strategy for Iraq's energy sector.
