The University of Baghdad announced, today, Thursday, that it has achieved progress in the (QS) global classification in 5 specializations.
The University of Baghdad media stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “The University of Baghdad was unique from other Iraqi universities, in achieving a new scientific achievement, in the QS World University Rankings by subject, in its special edition for the year 2024, which included 5 Specialties.
The President of the University of Baghdad, Bahaa Ibrahim Ensaf, said - according to the statement - that “progress in international scientific classifications, including the British QS classification, confirms our university’s commitment to supporting the vision of the ministry and the state and bringing about real change, actual tangible impact and sustainable development at various levels and sectors, whether social, educational or economic or health.
He added, "The University of Baghdad was the only Iraqi university that succeeded in reserving a place in the global rankings in five major scientific specializations, namely engineering, petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, and medicine, as the College of Engineering ranked 344th in the world and is considered among the top 16%." The President of the University of Baghdad indicated, “preparing a thoughtful program and an ambitious strategic plan to advance the university in various regional and international classifications and capacities, in line with the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Iraqi government to advance the reality of national higher education,” stressing, “the need for scientific research to provide services.” A real initiative that meets the needs of society on the one hand and contributes to the support and progress of the state on the other hand.”.

In turn, the Scientific Assistant to the President of the University, Suhail Najm Abd, explained God, said, “The academic achievements achieved by the University of Baghdad in the British QS classification of subjects reflect the dedication and excellence that we seek in every aspect of our educational and research work.”.
