The Media Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency INA that Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani welcomed the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, Mr. Alejandro Mayorkas, at the Prime Minister’s residence in Washington, D.C.
The statement read that “During the meeting, they discussed the relations between the two countries and the potential for cooperation, utilizing the expertise of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in areas such as border security, drug trafficking prevention, and the use of advanced technology for tracking and detection, in addition to training.”
It further said that “Prime Minister Al-Sudani also expressed his appreciation to Secretary Mayorkas for the efforts made by the Department of Homeland Security in recovering stolen Iraqi artifacts.”
