The Anbar Criminal Court issued, on Sunday, three sentences of severe imprisonment for three years for each sentence against the director of the legal department at the general glass and ceramics company for the crime of receiving a bribe from people in exchange for promising them to install contracts.
The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “ the Anbar Criminal Court issued three sentences of severe imprisonment for three years for each sentence against the director of the legal department at the general glass and ceramics company for the crime of receiving a bribe from people in exchange for promising them to install contracts”.
"The court issued its verdict against the convict after he participated with another defendant in receiving sums of money by a number of daily wage employees for the purpose of completing their transactions for the purpose of proving them as contracts" the statement added .
The statement pointed out that "the sentences were issued based on the provisions of resolution 160/ II/1 of 1983 and based on the provisions of Article 132 /3 of the Penal Code".
