“Study in Iraq” program.. MOE announces the provision of 14,000 scholarships

    The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research confirmed today, Saturday, that the second phase of the (Study in Iraq) program provided 14,000 free scholarships provided by 59 public and private universities, while indicating a great demand for the program during the current year 2024.

    Deputy Minister of Higher Education for Scientific Research Affairs, Haider Fahad, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “In its first phase, the (Study in Iraq) program achieved great success by attracting more than 1,000 foreign students to Iraqi universities, distributed in more than 27 universities Iraqi university within graduate and preliminary studies.

    Fahad added, "The second phase of the (Study in Iraq) program received applications from 59 Iraqi universities, where more than 14,000 free scholarships were provided, to attract foreign students to study in Iraqi universities."

    For his part, the Director General of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the Ministry of Education, Hazem Baqir Taher, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The goal of the (Study in Iraq) program is to internationalize higher education in Iraq, in addition to spreading a positive image of the level of Iraqi education, because foreign students will be ambassadors for the Iraqi Ministry of Education in their countries upon their return.”

    Taher pointed out, "There is a great demand for the (Study in Iraq) program during the current year, as there are large numbers of foreign students asking about the launch time of the program to join and study in Iraq."

    He explained, "The (Study in Iraq) program was highlighted in international scientific forums, in Britain, Qatar, the Emirates, and the Union Councils of Arab Universities, which was recently held in Iraq, where the program received everyone's approval."
