The Ministry of Oil announced today, Saturday, that the rate of national gas investment has risen to more than (1916) MSCF per day.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Gas Affairs, Izzat Saber, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The Ministry is keen to accelerate the implementation of gas investment projects, stop burning it, and work to transform it into useful energy that supplies electrical power stations and all industries related to it, in line with The government program and the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani and the Minister of Oil.”
He added, "The gas investment sector is witnessing growth and an increase in the quantities of associated gas investment,
as the amount of gas invested has reached more than (1916) cubic meters per day, which constitutes more than (61%) of the amount of gas produced, which amounts to (3120) MSCF. Saber pointed out that “electric power generation stations, industrial facilities, and others are equipped with dry gas in a quantity of (1450) cubic feet per day, while the amount of national production of liquid gas reached (6675) tons per day.”
The Undersecretary of the Ministry expected “addition New quantities to the national production rate this year, after the completion of a number of promising projects in southern Iraq.”
