President Rashid calls for more cooperation with Arab and Islamic countries

    Iraq’s President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received  representatives of Arab and Islamic diplomatic missions to Iraq at Salam Palace in Baghdad. 
     
     “Following the customary exchange of Ramadan greetings, His Excellency expressed his appreciation for the ambassadors’ efforts to find new paths of cooperation with Iraq,” stated The Presidency of the Republic in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA.

    “President Rashid affirmed that Iraq has regained its pivotal role in the region by aligning its positions with those of brotherly countries as well as by contributing to security, stability and peace in the region and on the global level,” the statement added.

    The president also expressed support for the establishment of joint economic and trade projects that benefit the countries of the region. Pointing out that Iraq is a significant market for investment, President Rashid outlined some of the steps taken by the government to boost investment and bolster the private sector. 
     
    On regional developments, the Iraqi President stressed the need to stop the aggression against Gaza and protect the Palestinian people who are suffering from the most heinous crimes against humanity. 
     
    President Rashid reiterated his position that there can be no security or stability in the region without granting the Palestinian people their full rights and establishing their state on their land. 
     
     The ambassadors reaffirmed their countries' support for Iraq's efforts to establish internal security and stability, and its vital and important role in the region, stressing their countries' aspiration to strengthen relations and cooperation with Iraq in various fields.
