Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Amos Hochstein, Special Presidential Coordinator for Global Infrastructure and US Energy Security, discussed the security situation in the region and its impact on the economy and the market, especially the energy market and prices.
Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "Deputy Prime Minister And Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met at the White House Amos Hochstein, the special presidential coordinator for global infrastructure and energy security, within the framework of continuing intensive meetings with US officials to discuss various aspects of bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States of America.
"During the meeting, they discussed the security situation in the region and the extent of its impact on the economy and the market, especially the energy market and prices, the two sides discussed the role of international companies in the oil industries in Iraq and investment process in Iraqi gas fields" the statement added .
The statement continued " in another part of the talks, the US official touched upon some American oil companies operating in Iraqi Kurdistan and the problems they face due to the inability to export, and in this regard, the Minister referred to the work of these companies, and the view of the Federal Government on a side and the Region on the other to the problem of exporting oil from the Kurdistan region of Iraq and through the oil pipeline connecting the region to the Turkish port of Ceyhan".
For his part, Amos Hochstein expressed his country's readiness to strengthen cooperation, especially in the field of Energy, oil and gas, and wished to solve the oil problems between the Federal Government and the Region because of the importance and impact on the oil sector and companies operating in the region and on the oil market.
