Max Eberl has confirmed that Bayern Munich have made Alphonso Davies a final take-it-or-leave-it contract offer.

The Canadian has been the subject of a transfer saga for months now, but it seems the end of it is in sight. Out of contract in 2025, the idea from Bayern's side has always been to either get the 23-year-old to commit his future to the club long-term or to offload him in the summer.

Real Madrid are considered the favourites to land the Canadian superstar, not least because the Spanish capital would be his preferred destination, but Los Blancos are said to have no intention of paying the €70m Bayern have started demanding. Real are prepared to play the long game and wait for Davies to run down his contract.

Bayern, for their part, still retain hope of tying the former MLS wonderkid down to a new deal, as confirmed by new director Max Eberl.
Based on that, it seems unlikely that Davies will extend his stay, although stranger things have happened. As for Real Madrid, Eberl claimed that Los Blancos are yet to officially come calling regarding the left-back. "Real Madrid haven't contacted us," he said.

However, should Davies indeed reject the new terms, it will only be a matter of time before talks with the LaLiga giants will be opened. After all, a verbal agreement has reportedly already been reached.
