Advisor to the Prime Minister for Youth Affairs, Qasim Al-Dhalimi, explained the most important decisions taken at the fourth session of the Supreme Youth Council, headed by PM Muhammed S. Al-Sudani as several ministers attended.
“The session witnessed the making of 7 decisions, the first of which included approving the formation of the national team for people with special needs, which includes 1000 active and distinguished young men and women with special needs, with care and attention for this important group in the community and building links with them," said Al-Dhalmi to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
He added, "The second decision included approval of the standards and conditions for the Creativity Medal for young innovators in accordance with the introductory guide attached to the Ministry of Youth and Sports decree, No. (490) dated 2/21/2024, which is an important honor that contributes to supporting creative youth and motivating them to continue their creative path."
"The third decision included approval to establish robotics and artificial intelligence clubs within the forums affiliated with the youth and sports directorates in Baghdad, with one club in each directorate in accordance with the structure attached to the memorandum of the secretariat of the Supreme Council for Youth, numbered 2400144 on 2/28/2024, relying on trainers and specialists from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research or from other government agencies provided that the Baghdad Governorate is responsible for equipping the clubs with all requirements. The clubs will be managed by the Office of the PM for Scientific and Academic Affairs and Artificial Intelligence Applications, in cooperation with the Baghdad Governorate and under the supervision and follow-up of the Supreme Council for Youth," " he noted.
He stressed, “The fourth decision included approval of the engineering plan for the model youth camp in accordance with the plan attached to the letter of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, No.475 dated 2/21/2024, which can accommodate 500 young people, and it is proposed to establish it in Baghdad within the land allocated for the Tajiyat Stadium.”
"The fifth decision included approval for the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities to grant licenses to practice a profession in relation to tourist facilities, such as opening tourist offices, cafes, restaurants, etc., to young people under the age of 35 years in exchange for wages supported by a discount proposed by the Board of Directors of the Tourism Groups Department of the Authority of Tourism in the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities," he added.
He pointed out that “the sixth decision included approval for the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities to adopt master’s theses and distinguished PhD theses for young postgraduate students related to the Ministry’s specialization and support them in implementing them on the ground."
"The seventh decision included approval for the Industry of the Future project, which aims to gather the youth of Iraq, including the Kurdistan region, in seasonal camps to enhance their skills, inform them of the opportunities and challenges they face in the future, and extend bridges of communication between them, while hosting the journalist Beston Othman Khalid, the owner of the project," he included.
