Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani Welcomes the Governor of Baghdad and Members of the Provincial Council

“Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani received the Governor of Baghdad, Abdul-Mutalib Ali Al-Alawi, along with the head of the Provincial Council,  Ammar Hussein Al-Qaisy, and the members of the council” stated the Media Office of the Prime Minister in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA.

The statement added “Prime Minister Al-Sudani congratulated them on earning the trust of the province's residents, emphasizing that the completion of the legislative, supervisory, and executive powers of the local government marks a significant feature of the political system post-2003. This development represents a positive stride in governance, bolstered by establishing the powers and allocating the budget, which should be supported by dedication and integrity”.

“Prime Minister stressed the necessity of working as a unified team, mobilizing efforts and time to create a tangible success story for the public, enhancing confidence in the Provincial Councils' work within a vision and a program for the local government driven by the executive body” the statement added.

“Prime Minister Al-Sudani highlighted the importance of conveying positive messages and aligning the Provincial Councils' action program with the federal government's actions. He emphasized focusing on the outskirts of the capital, considering aspects of budget rationalization, project selection, and adhering to professional and scientific opinions, away from any biases” the statement continued.
