A moment of silence and mourning began, organized by the Presidency of the Republic, on the occasion of the anniversary of Halabja massacre.
The Presidency of the Republic stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Under the patronage and presence of the President of the Republic, a moment of silence and mourning began, organized by the Presidency of the Republic on the occasion of the anniversary of Halabja massacre.”
The Advisor to the President of the Republic delivered a presidential speech, during which he affirmed that "the Halabja massacre was unprecedented and constituted an exceptional mark in the history of tyranny."
The statement stressed: "The importance of continuing sincere work to make the city of Halabja a governorate within the Kurdistan region."
