The Supreme Judicial Council - SJC received, on Thursday, from United Nations Investigative Team to Promote Accountability for Crimes committed by Da’esh " UNITAD " a digital data regarding the crimes of Daesh terrorist gangs in Iraq.
The Media Center of SJC stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the president of Baghdad- Karkh Court of Appeal, Khalid Taha, received from the international investigation team " UNITAD " these data at the Appeal’s Headquarter in the presence of Appeal deputy head Ali Hussein jafat, the first judge of Investigation Court of - Karkh/1”.
The statement added that "these data were handed over to the Supreme Judicial Council based on the Security Council resolution for the purpose of using them in Iraqi courts, as this achievement is considered to be within the framework of joint cooperation between the judiciary and the international investigation team".
For his part, the head of the appeal confirmed "the need for continuous cooperation with the "UNITAD" international investigation team and international organizations operating inside Iraq and providing their support to the judiciary".
