Salah al-Din Criminal Court issued, on Thursday, a three-year prison sentence against a convict for the crime of intentionally damaging the funds and state's interests.
The Supreme Judicial Council stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that " Salah al-Din Criminal Court issued a three-year prison sentence against a convict for the crime of intentionally damaging the funds and state's interests”.
The statement added "the convict, during his work as planning director of Salah al-Din governorate court, spent on (63) projects costing 59 billion, 669 million and 990 thousand Iraqi dinars, which were not approved".
The statement pointed out that "the sentence was issued against him based on the provisions of Article 340 of the Penal Code No. 111 of 1969 amended".
