The Holy Karbala Criminal Court issued on Tuesday, a six-year prison sentence against a woman convicted of the crime of embezzling sums of money.
The media center of the Supreme Judicial Council stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the Holy Karbala Criminal Court issued a six-year prison sentence against a convict working in the Ministry of Communications - Karbala Postal and Supply Department for the crime of embezzling sums of money,” indicating that “The convicted woman tampered with and forged receipts for withdrawing sums of money from the complainants’ account.”
"The ruling was issued in accordance with the provisions of Article 316/last part of the Penal Code No. 111 of 1969 as amended and in accordance with Articles 47, 48, and 49 of Subscription ,” The statement added.
