Siemens Energy in Iraq declared on Monday, that negotiations are ongoing with the Ministries of Oil and Electricity for the investment in associated gas. The company also revealed its intention to invest in associated gas in southern Iraq.
The CEO of the company, Muhanad Al-Safar, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The company is collaborating with the Iraqi government to invest in associated gas, not only for environmental purposes but also to reduce significant government expenses, in addition to ensuring energy security, which is a crucial aspect of the energy sector within Iraq."
Al-Safar added, "We are currently in discussions with the Ministries of Electricity and Oil to commence this project in the near future in southern Iraq."
He expressed gratitude to the government and the Ministry of Electricity for "overcoming obstacles," and expressed the hope that support would continue to complete and implement contracts on the ground.
