Chairman of the Media and Communications Commission, Ali Al-Muayyad announced today, Wednesday, an agreement to form a higher committee for joint work with the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Al-Muayyad said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “An expanded meeting was held in the presence of the head of international affairs and the advanced staff at the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), on the sidelines of the World Bank’s digital summit in Washington,” noting that “there was talk about exchanging expertise, experiences, and joint work in organizing regulations and instructions for communications and information technology.”
He added, "Means were discussed to simplify procedures related to the work of communication and technology companies and exchange experiences and delegations between the two countries in a way that contributes to achieving joint cooperation."
Al-Muayyad that "The delegations of the two countries agreed to form a higher committee for joint work between the two bodies in a way that contributes to achieving the maximum benefit from technological developments and reducing the digital divide."
It is noteworthy that the World Bank Digital Summit 2024, held in Washington, hosts senior officials and ministers in governments and the private sector, with the aim of exploring opportunities, accelerating the pace of digital transformation and development, and reviewing the reality of development around the world.
The latest technologies and scientific visions in the field of innovation, communication and digital transformation will also be revealed during the summit.
