The Higher Education And Scientific Research Ministry announced, on Wednesday, that the Association of Arab Universities voted to support the initiative to establish the Arab Higher Education Zone, during the conclusion of its work held at Baghdad University.
A statement from the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said that" the Association of Arab universities members voted to support the initiative put forward by the Minister Of Higher Education And Scientific Research Naim al-Aboudi”.
Amr Salama, the secretary-general of the Association of Arab Universities explained that "the General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities welcomes and appreciates the initiative of the Minister Of Higher Education And Scientific Research in the Republic of Iraq on the establishment of a unified Arab region for higher education" stressing "the commitment of the conference to work on the implementation of this outstanding initiative”.
At the end of the conference, certificates of participation and membership were presented to the Arab universities that joined the Association which reached thirty universities.
