Border Ports Authority announced, on Wednesday, the overthrow of a dealer and a carrier of narcotic substances at the Shalamcheh border crossing.
Alaeddin al-Qaisi the spokesman of the Authority, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the detachments of the Border Ports Authority and a qualitative operation in conjunction with the customs police station of the port, were arrested the accused (dealer and carrier) of the trade in narcotic substances".
He pointed out that "a foreign traveler was seized in possession of a narcotic substances in addition to the existence of a new type for the first time to be introduced according to the carrier's confession, after which the other accused (the dealer) who is outside the country was lured by securing contact between the carrier and the dealer".
"The defendants were referred with the seizures to the competent judicial authorities to receive their fair punishment in accordance with the law "Al-Qaisi added.
