The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naim al-Aboudi, confirmed on Monday that Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani gave great attention to education through his Government program, calling for the establishment of the Arab Higher Education Zone.
Al-Aboudi said in a speech during the General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities convened in Baghdad, and attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA) "Today, we are witnessing the largest scientific and academic forum in light of the circumstances in the Arab region of the genocide carried out by Zionist occupation army against Gaza’s people ", indicating that "this conference is an important step in assessing the scientific process and to develop plans and strategies and study the outputs to develop work requirements ”.
Al-Aboudi called for "the establishment and announcement of the Arab Higher Education Zone, and we submit to the Arab universities this proposed initiative, as we believe that this project is worthy because it includes a road map for development and face challenges and expand joint work between Arab Higher Education Institutions, support, establish and reform institutions and find solutions to many problems facing educational institutions, similar to the European education establishment zone".
He added that "medical colleges in Iraq have reached the stage of professionalism and granted international accreditation, which is a full unconditional recognition that extends until 2034".
Al-Aboudi stressed that" Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani, through the Government program, gave great attention to education ,to arrive Iraq to the international accreditation ".
He explained that "the real, continuous and effective interaction between our Arab universities and academic incubators will reduce the gap between higher education and the productive field between serious educational universities in many world capitals".
"The time has come to cooperate more to reach academic understanding through our lofty values in science, literature and knowledge "added al-Aboudi.
He went on to say that "Arab universities deserve to provide initiatives in terms of free grants and the exchange of scientific research fellowships ",noting that " Iraqi Ministry of higher education and scientific research has initiated these steps by attracting Arab students to its universities”.
