Al-Karkh Criminal Court issued a ten-year prison sentence against a convict for impersonating several public positions.
"The Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that a verdict has been issued today, Tuesday, sentencing an individual to ten years in prison for the crime of assuming the identity of a judge at the Judicial Supervision Authority and the Court of Cassation. The convict had set up social media profiles under this false identity with the intent of obtaining financial benefits. The judgment was issued in accordance with the provisions of Decision 160 of the year 1983, paragraphs 1 and 2."
