Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received the highest level of popular support in Iraq, according to an opinion poll conducted by the American Gallup organization.
According to the organization’s report, which was translated by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani received a strong approval rating (69%) among Iraqis in 2023, which is the highest level recorded by Gallup for any Iraqi leader since it began tracking this measure in 2012.
The report added, "Iraqis younger than 30 are equally positive about Al-sudani (68%) as older Iraqis, and the majority of those living in Kurdistan also approve Al-sudani job performance."
He pointed out that "Iraqis' faith in key state institutions continued to climb in 2023, reaching new highs or matching previous ones, as Iraqis' confidence in their local police rose to 82% last year, the highest total on record, and support for the military also reached... 82%.”
The report also indicates that confidence in institutions is reaching new heights, as 57 percent of Iraqis trust their judicial system, which is the highest percentage in two decades.
