Al-Mandalawi urges unifying Arab and Islamic efforts to deter the dangers threatening the region

    Parliament Acting Speaker, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, called on Sunday, for unifying Arab and Islamic efforts to deter the dangers threatening the region.
    “Al-Mandalawi, received in his office today, the Vice President of the Supreme Shiite Islamic Council in Lebanon, Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib, in the presence of the Lebanese Ambassador to Iraq, Ali Al-Habhab, and MP Mustafa Sanad,” indicating that “the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to strengthen them were discussed,” The media office of the Parliament First Deputy Speaker said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

    "During the meeting, Al-Mandalawi discussed the most prominent dangers and challenges facing the Islamic nation and the countries of the region, especially the genocide crimes committed by the occupying entity against the Palestinian people, and the people of Gaza Strip, and its ongoing violations against Lebanese sovereignty, and its repercussions on stability," the statement added.
    In turn, the Vice President of the Supreme Islamic Shiite Council in Lebanon said, “Everyone is counting on Iraq to ease tensions in the region,” explaining that “Baghdad played a major and exceptional role in bringing viewpoints closer between Arab and Islamic countries.”
     
    He also lauded "the official positions of the Parliament and the Iraqi government regarding what is happening in Gaza."
