Prime Minister Al-Sudani Holds a Meeting to Discuss Finalizing Procedures for Transitioning to Electronic Payment

    Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani held a meeting focused on finalizing government procedures for the transition to electronic payments. The session included the Central Bank Governor, advisors to the Prime Minister for strategic, economic, and banking affairs, the a Director General at the Central Bank, and directors of several governmental banks.
     
    The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “During the meeting, the discussion revolved around mechanisms to financially protect citizens and uphold their rights. Prime Minister Al-Sudani emphasized that individuals utilizing electronic payments should not face any additional financial burdens, fees, or charges, particularly in everyday transactions”.
     
    “Prime Minister Al-Sudani underscored the significance of expediting the transition to electronic card payments across both public and private sector institutions. The meeting delved into the discussion of the charges by banking institutions, aligning with the government's objectives to reform the financial and banking sectors” the statement added.
