Speaker of Libyan Parliament expresses his desire to visit Baghdad

The interim Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq to the State of Libya, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, announced on Tuesday, that Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, expressed his desire to visit Baghdad.

“Al-Sahhaf met the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Saleh, in the Council building," said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

During the meeting, Iraqi-Libyan relations were discussed as well as ways to strengthen them in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples as the two sides also reviewed the overall situation and challenges facing the region.

Al-Sahhaf stressed “the importance of work and coordination between the parliaments of the two countries, strengthening relations and exchanging visits between officials of the two countries, continuing support, and enhancing cooperation in all fields.”
