PM Advisor for Security Affairs, Khalid Al-Yaqoubi, stressed on Tuesday, that the bombing of Erbil does not go with the depth of friendship between Iraq and Iran, stressing the necessity of holding a bilateral dialogue to prevent its recurrence.

"The bombing on Erbil is a unilateral act carried out by Iran and represents a major violation of Iraqi sovereignty. This bombing does not go with the depth of friendship between Iraq and Iran, and undermines security in the region," said Al-Yaqoubi to Al-Iraqiya News, followed by the Iraqi News Agency  - INA.

He added, "In the recent period, there were Iraqi-Iranian understandings, and a high-level committee was formed to establish controls and exchange of security information," noting, "The Iraqi constitution does not allow the presence of armed groups that threaten neighboring countries and does not allow its territory to be a launching point for aggression against any country."

"The Iraqi-Iranian committees worked a lot, and the two countries reached a mutually acceptable agreement regarding the Iranian opposition groups," he explained, adding, "The Iranian government did not inform Iraq about the recent bombing."

He stated, "If there was evidence on the Iranian side of the existence of Mossad offices in Erbil, they should have been handed over to the Iraqi government, and the Iraqi government will not stand idly by in this regard," noting that "the justifications for the bombing are insufficient."

"Iraq is very keen to deepen relations with Iran," stressing "the necessity of sitting with the Iranian side, conducting dialogue, and preventing the recurrence of such actions," stressing "We are striving for Iraq to be free of any foreign forces, as we have entered into serious negotiations with the United States and have come a very excellent way in this direction, but these events are harmful to the file that Iraq is working on."
