Rashid offers deepest sympathy to families of Victims in Diwaniyah maternity hospital fire

President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid expressed his sympathies to the relatives of the victims of the maternity hospital fire.

"We extend our sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims of the tragic fire incident that occurred in the maternity hospital in Diwaniyah province and resulted in a number of victims and injured children," Rashid said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

"We call for holding negligent persons accountable and taking effective steps to reduce the recurrence of such incidents," he continued, “stressing the need to follow up on safety and prevention measures in hospitals and all state institutions."
