The Ministry of Oil declared on Wednesday that its earnings for December exceeded eight billion dollars.
According to preliminary statistics released by the State Organization for Marketing of Oil SOMO" the Ministry's total exports and revenues for the month of December last year amounted to over 8 billion dollars, with the total amount of crude oil exports amounting to (108) million and (56) thousand and (590) barrels, with revenues of (8) billion and (316) million dollars. The said details were included in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"The overall amounts of crude oil exported for the month of December from the oil fields in central and southern Iraq totaled (107) million and (592) thousand and (532) barrels, while the amounts exported to Jordan totaled (464) thousand and (58) barrels," the ministry continued.
"The average price per barrel reached (76.96) dollars," the ministry said, indicating that "the daily quantities exported amounted to (3) million and (486) thousand barrels per day."
Oil Ministry emphasized that "the ministry has taken this monthly measure because it believes in informing the public about the export operations and the revenues generated from them."
