FCOI executes an arrest warrant against an official in Anbar

    The Federal Integrity Commission FCOI declared friday that it had executed an arrest warrant and was looking into allegations of bribery against the current director of the Anbar Agriculture Directorate.
     
    "A team from the Commission's Investigation Office in Baghdad, in cooperation with the Anbar Investigation Office, executed the arrest warrant issued against the director of the governorate's Agriculture Directorate on a charge related to paying bribes," the statement says, describing the specifics of the operation, which was carried out in accordance with a judicial warrant. "The details of the case indicate the involvement of the accused to pay sums of money up to (70) thousand dollars to influential parties in exchange for closing the complaint of his sister, whose name was included in the agricultural plan illegally."

    The commission also noted that, "despite not owning agricultural land, his sister was receiving pesticides, wheat seeds, and fertilizers," and that the operation was conducted in accordance with warrant issued by the judge of the second Karkh investigative court based on resolution (160 of 1983)."
