The Minister of Transport, Razzaq Mhaibes Al-Saadawi, directed on Tuesday, to reduce travel ticket prices for people with special needs by 50%, twice a year.
“The Prime Minister directed to enforce the Law on People with Disabilities and Special Needs, hence the implementation of the law has begun," stated the Ministry of Transport in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
Al-Saadawi instructed the enforcement of the rights stipulated in the Care of People with Disabilities and Special Needs Law based on the directives of Prime Minister Muhammed S. Al-Sudani.
He directed that travel ticket prices for people with special needs be reduced by 50% and twice a year, noting that “the Division for the Care of the Disabled and People with Special Needs and administrative units for the care of the disabled have been created in all formations of the Ministry, in addition to working to establish a special road in the Ministry’s center for caring for people with special needs, cars and wheelchairs for easy transportation.”
The statement included that, “the job grades for people with disabilities, according to the percentage stipulated in the law of 5% for this category, are among the tasks of the Federal Public Service Council.”
