Chaired by Iraq ... OAPEC Ministers Council issues several decisions

Oil Ministry confirmed on, Tuesday, that the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries OPAEC issued several decisions.
 
 The Ministry said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA that " OAPEC Ministers Council, held its 111th meeting in Doha- Qatar, with a participation of Ministers of Oil and Energy of the member states", indicating that "Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Minister of oil and Iraq representative in OAPEC Council of Ministers, Hayyan Abdul Ghani al-Sawad, chaired the meeting”.

The statement added " The attendees discussed the topics on the agenda of the ministerial council related to the work and activity of the organization, which included:
- Draft Budget Estimates of the organization for 2024.
- Development and restructuring of the organization's business, the development of its activities and the revision of regulations and laws governing its work, in a manner appropriate to the new challenges and developments in the field of energy.
- Review the steps that have been taken about the development of IT systems infrastructure in the organization.
 - Following up the activation of The Ministers Council Resolution No. 4/107 on the Middle East Green initiative and adopting the concept of circular carbon economy.
- Announcement of the winners of the biennial OAPEC prize for scientific research, the scope for 2022 is "Decarbonization technologies in the petroleum industry and circular economy.
- The secretary-general report on the activities of the General Secretariat, represented in the preparation of economic and technical studies, follow-up reports the global petroleum situation, environmental and climate change Affairs, the progress of work in the information Bank, the events organized by the General Secretariat which it participated and which it will organize during 2024".

The statement continued “The meeting issued a number of important ministerial decisions related to some of the topics on its agenda for the general secretariat of the organization to put those decisions into actual implementation".

“The Ministerial Council expressed its thanks and appreciation to the state of Qatar for hosting this meeting, which coincided with the holding of the 12th session of the Arab energy conference, hosted by the state of Qatar for the third time and to OAPEC general secretariat for good organization and good preparation of this meeting” the statement added.
