The Ministry of Oil clarified on Sunday, the possibility of some companies participating in the sixth licensing round, while confirming the interest of Qatari companies in participating in the contract of the French company Total.
Abdul Baqi Khalaf, advisor to the Minister of Oil for Energy Affairs, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The sixth licensing round has now been announced and all Arab and foreign companies can participate in this round,” indicating that “the Iraqi environment today is promising, especially the oil fields, and there are potential studies with a positive vision for these fields, everyone is welcome to participate in these investments."
He added, "Qatari companies have expressed interest in participating in the Total contract, and there is also an intention by some to participate in such investments."
