UN praises Iraq's role in supporting youth and their projects

The Ministry of Youth and Sports announced today, Friday, the opening of Youth Day activities in the Iraqi pavilion participating in the COP28 Conference of the Parties held at Expo Dubai.

A statement from the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said: “The Ministry of Youth and Sports opened today’s Youth Day activities in the Iraqi pavilion participating in the Cop28 Conference of the Parties held at Expo Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.”.

The statement added, "The dialogue session was about the integration of youth into climate action."
The statement noted that "the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations praised the role of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in supporting young people and their projects in Iraq and involving them in such important international conferences.".

The statement continued, "Director General of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation Hossam Hassan stressed the importance of Iraq's participation in this major international forum, which is attended by more than eighty thousand participants representing 180 countries."
