Minister of Interior Abdul Amir al-Shammari and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein inagurated a joint operations room and diplomatic electronic passport section on Tuesday.
A statement by the Ministry of Interior, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "in line with the Government's program to simplify procedures, overcome obstacles, ease routines and alleviate the burden on citizens, Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein inagurated a joint operations room to provide data on Iraqi expatriate.”
The Minister for Foreign Affairs thanked "the Minister of the Interior for his efforts to open the Joint room and his constant endeavour to serve citizens inside and outside the country", noting that "there will be direct contact throughout the day without stopping with all Iraqi embassies abroad, to provide a great service to Iraqi citizens abroad."
He pointed out that "these services came as a result of the meeting held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the ambassadors to solve the problems and obstacles that face abroad, including issuing the national card, the electronic passport, and other matters they need abroad," announcing "the opening of the electronic passport section to provide services to the citizens ".
