President Rashid receives Chief of AFGS Gen,Mohammad Bagheri

    President Abdullatif Gamal Rashid stressed on Monday, the necessity of making international efforts to stop the war on Gaza.

    The Presidency's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "President of the Republic, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, received today at Baghdad Palace the Chief of Armed Forces General Staff (AFGS) Major General Muhammad Bagheri, and his accompanying delegation."

    The statement added, "At the beginning of the meeting, Major General Bagheri conveyed the greetings of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, His Eminence Sayyed Ali Khamenei and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to the President of the Republic and their wishes for the Iraqi people for continued security, safety and prosperity, while the President of the Republic conveyed to the Chief of General Staff his greetings to the Supreme Leader and his wishes of good health to him and to the President and the leadership iranian good luck and success."

    According to the statement, the President of the Republic stressed “the importance of developing relations between the two countries in the security, political and economic aspects, enhancing training and technical cooperation and joint work to ensure border security and combating the drug phenomenon, and benefiting from the experiences of the two countries in fighting terrorism."

    Abdullatif praised "the agreement between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran for border security," praising "Iran's support and support for Iraq in its war against terrorist gangs."

    The President of the Republic referred to "Iraq's firm position in support of the right of the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights," stressing "the necessity of condemning the aggression against the Palestinians and making international efforts to stop the war on Gaza."

    In turn, Major General Bagheri renewed "his country's support for Iraq's efforts to consolidate its security and stability, and Iran's desire to extend bridges of cooperation and coordination on issues of mutual interest," praising "the speech of the President of the Republic during the climate conference in the United Arab Emirates."
