Iraqi Communications and Media Commission CMC announced on Sunday , the launch of the EMIS Education Management Information System deployment project to promote digital transformation in thousands of schools in the country.
CMC stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the project to publish the Education Management Information System, is one of the largest projects for digital transformation in the educational sector in the country, which launched in cooperation with the Ministry of education and UNESCO", indicating that "the project aims to develop the educational sector through the deployment of Education Management Information System in Iraq EMIS, which contributes to the delivery of internet services and the completion of educational steps, and the employment of digital transformation of educational departments instead of the paper system prevailing in traditional education".
The statement added that "according to the agreement signed with the Ministry of education and UNESCO, CMC has completed the second phase of the project by providing and activating (1500) internet devices with a SIM card to complete the total number (3000) devices and in coordination with mobile phone companies, provided free of charge to educational staff from the comprehensive service account at the authority”.
The statement continued that "according to the plans set, the internet services in the project have been officially activated today at the directorates and schools nominated by the Ministry of education and in coordination with UNESCO, provided that the number is subject to change in the event of changes in time".
