Rashid inaugurates the Iraqi pavilion at Expo City in Dubai

    On the sidelines of the United Nations Climate Summit (COP28), the President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Rashid, visited today, Saturday, the Expo Exhibition City in the Emirate of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

    A statement from the Media Office of the President of the Republic stated, “During the visit, the President opened the Iraqi pavilion at Expo,” stressing that “this pavilion represents another added opportunity to expand the horizons of cooperation with the UAE and the countries of the world in a way that achieves common interests.”,

    In a dialogue symposium held in the Iraqi pavilion, the President of the Republic pointed out that “Iraq is a country rich in its people, its civilization, its history, its wealth and its distinguished position in the world,” stressing “the importance of opening this pavilion, which is considered one of the means and communication links to enhance the status of Iraq and embody its cultures and the diversity of its components.” "Fraternity."
    In response to a number of press questions, he stressed that “there is a close connection between water, food and energy security,” pointing out that “Iraq has priorities in confronting these challenges.”,

    He pointed out that "the environmental issue at the present time is the most important issue for humanity, and it is not limited to a specific country, but rather includes the entire world," explaining that "the responsibility placed on humanity towards improving the environment and the necessity of planning for it and taking care of it continuously.".

    The President of the Republic added that "the results of human behavior on planet Earth are linked to the reality of the environment," explaining that "the progress of humanity is linked to the development of the environmental reality, so everyone must bear the responsibility of preserving the environment to provide a better future for future generations.".

     He stressed "the need to advance the global agricultural situation and pay attention to the mechanisms for using available water, in addition to the necessity of using the safest means of saving energy without increasing pollution."
    The President of the Republic "expressed his optimism about the plans that Iraq is following in dealing with environmental pollution," noting that "Iraq has suffered from many problems, pressures, wars, violence, siege, and terrorism, which have collectively led to its delay in some areas.".

    He pointed out that "Iraq today enjoys stability at various security, economic and political levels and has begun implementing the government's plans in all fields, most notably the environment," noting that "Iraq is cooperating with its international and regional environment in order to reach positive results for the benefit of the global community as a whole because the environmental issue is linked to the whole world".

    He stressed that "Iraq's steps are good and it needs support in the scientific and technical aspects," indicating that the responsibility of the United Nations in this field is a great responsibility and not only through conferences and workshops but also through guidance and issuing laws that impose on the countries and governments of the world to take reality into account. Preserving the environment in a serious way is in the service of humanity.”.

    The President of the Republic mentioned “the necessity of preserving water wealth in the entire world because water is the foundation of the environment and a major factor in life and development,” noting “the need for the United Nations to pay attention to developing school curricula and from the early stages of teaching future generations the foundations of Preserving and improving the environment.”
