The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Al-Batal, announced 90 opportunities for a public-private investment partnership.
In his speech during Basra Industrial Partnerships Forum in the presence of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudan, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Batal said: "There is fair competition between public, local and private sector companies," Stating that "One of the Ministry's priorities is to have Iraqi industries through partnership with private sector companies and to have fierce competition between local product, importer and consumer protection."
He continued: "We supported this partnership to be an incentive for more joint work," calling on "current and future partners to provide ideas for the success of these companies while adhering to the government's approach and unlimited support to the private sector."
