Integrity Commission Arrests Accused of impersonating the director of follow-up in Prime Minister's office

 Integrity Commission announced, on Monday, the arrest of a suspect accused of impersonating the follow-up director in the prime minister's office and bargaining people for false promises.

The Investigations Department of the commission said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that " Baghdad Investigation Directorate has formed a working team to investigate and investigate information provided by an informant, including the request of one of the accused to request 13 thousand dollars from him in exchange for installing him as a director in one of the Departments of Anbar province”.

 
The Commission added that " The team, upon receiving the information and obtaining the judicial order, set up a tight ambush for the complainant, and moved with the informant to the agreed place, where the team was able to trap the accused in one of the neighborhoods of the capital Baghdad, red-handed receiving 13 thousand dollars from the informant, in exchange for a false promise to install him as a manager in one of the Departments of Anbar province”.

 
According to the statement " the operation also resulted in the seizure of one of the accused's escorts and 4 mobile phones”, noting that “the complainant admitted - after taking down his statements - to impersonate him as a follow-up manager in the prime minister's office to pass bargaining, extortion and other illegal acts that he committed”. 

 
  " The team organized a thorough seizure report in the operation, which was carried out in accordance with the provisions of resolution 160 of (1983) and presented it, accompanied by the defendants and the seized items to the competent investigative judge, who decided, after ratified their statements, to arrest them pending investigation”.
 
It is noteworthy that the integrity commission called on citizens and state institutions to be careful in dealing with those claiming official status, urging them to inform the commission on such practices in order to move quickly and take legal action against those who try to blackmail citizens and institutions or exploit them by impersonating official attributes.
