The African Union AU called on, Sunday , for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Sudan, strongly condemning the continuation of the conflict in the country.
The AU Peace and Security Council said in a statement "the council condemns the severity of the continuation of the destructive and unjustified conflict between the Rapid Support forces and the Sudanese armed forces, which has had serious consequences for the security and humanitarian situation in Sudan and neighboring countries.
"The indiscriminate killing of innocent civilians, the indiscriminate destruction of infrastructure, including diplomatic buildings, the widespread looting of civilian homes and property, and the abuse of women and girls, all in violation of international humanitarian and Human Rights Law "the statement added.
