The Minister of Immigration and Displacement, Evan Faiq Jabru, announced on Monday, the return of 375 displaced Yazidis to their original areas in Sinjar.
A statement from the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “Minister of Immigration and Displacement, Ivan Faiq Jabru, announced today Monday, the voluntary return of 375 Yazidi refugees from the Persefi 1 camp in Zakho district to their original residential areas in Sinjar district in Nineveh Governorate, in line with the government program and implementation of the plan National Center for the Return of Displaced Persons.”
The statement explained that "the process of transporting families and their furniture was carried out in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and in cooperation with local administrations in Zakho and Sinjar districts," directing "to include families returning to their original areas in Sinjar with durable goods and relief aid, and to meet all their needs quickly."
Jabro confirmed, according to the statement, that "the Ministry is continuing to work to implement what was stated in the government program to return all displaced persons voluntarily and close the displacement file completely."
