Al-Maliki Stresses on the Importance of Strengthening Cooperation with the UN Mission

The head of the state of Law Coalition, Nouri Al-Maliki, stressed on, Thursday, the importance of strengthening cooperation with the UN mission in various journals.
 
Media Office of the head of the state of Law coalition, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "AL-Maliki received, in his office, the representative of the secretary-general of the United Nations, the head of the independent strategic review team of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq Volker Perthes ".
 
The statement explained "At the beginning of the meeting, Nouri Al-Maliki welcomed the guest and discussed the existing cooperation with the United Nations mission in Iraq (UNAMI) ".

Al-Maliki pointed out" the importance of strengthening cooperation with the UN mission in accordance with the approved contexts, and that cooperation is not limited only to the political side, but in various fields, including economic and social aspects".
 
For his part, Volker Perthes praised "the progress made by Iraq at the level of relations with the international community and the work to bring the views closer between the countries of the region", expressing “the organization's readiness to cooperate with the Iraqi government in various fields”.
