JOC announce securing the common borders with Syria and Iran

    Joint Operations Command (JOC) announced on Thursday,  the continuation of its preparations by holding workshops to introduce how to conduct special voting and the mechanism for implementing the plan to protect polling stations and voters, stressing the government’s great support in securing the common borders with Iran and Syria.

    The spokesman for the Operations Command, Major General Tahseen Al-Khafaji, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The Joint Operations Command held the second workshop on the governorate council elections, in cooperation with the Inspectorate, and this workshop was specific to the security forces and special voting."

    He pointed out, “The workshop was fully prepared, which dealt with the mechanism for holding the elections, discussed all the possibilities and situations that could lead to the invalidation of the vote, and knowledge of the voting mechanism and how to vote. We also touched on the mechanism for implementing our security plan to protect polling centers, and other matters security measures."


    In a separate context, Al-Khafaji explained, “The Iraqi government has done great work in the field of securing the borders, whether the shared borders with Syria or Iran, as the capabilities and capabilities of the security forces in controlling the borders continue, in addition to the great support from the government in the field of expanding and equipping the forces security,” stressing “the government and security forces’ keenness to prevent any disruption within our borders."
