AL- Maliki Receives Japanese Ambassador

    The head of the state of Law Coalition, Nouri Al-Maliki, discussed on, Wednesday, with Japan's ambassador to Iraq Futoshi Matsumoto the repercussions of the war in the Gaza Strip. 
     
    Media Office of the head of the state of Law Coalition said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "AL-Maliki received Matsumoto today, and during the meeting they reviewed the Iraqi-Japanese relations and the political, economic and popular ties that unite the two friendly countries that span for many decades, as well as the repercussions of the war in the Gaza Strip and its international regional repercussions”.
     
    According to the statement Al-Maliki said that "What is happening in Gaza is a genocidal war being waged by the Zionist entity against an unarmed people who wants nothing but to restore their legitimate rights to a decent life on their land", noting that "what this entity is doing has exceeded all international norms and laws and that its continuation in this brutal approach will lead to the expansion of the circle of conflict in the entire region and the occurrence of ominous results”.
    He pointed that "It is important that Japan's role remains balanced, motivating other international positions to play a pivotal role in stopping this unjust war and preserving the lives of Palestinians and their legitimate rights”.
     
    For his part, Matsumoto explained that “he will convey these messages to his government, which is also keen to end this war, protect civilians and find a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue”.
