The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, announced the launch of the first flight via two planes carrying Iraqi humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip.
Major General Rasoul told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The trip includes a first meal loaded with 18 tons of humanitarian and relief aid provided by the Iraqi people.”
Rasoul added, "Work is currently underway to load it onto the two planes inside the Martyr Muhammad Alaa base so that will fly to Al-Arish Airport in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the aid will be delivered by the Iraqi Red Crescent to its Egyptian counterpart to then be transported to the families of the Palestinian people in Gaza."
