The Secretary-General of the Norwegian Refugee Council, Jan Egeland, confirmed today, Friday, that not providing any relief to Gaza for 12 days is unacceptable.
Egeland said in a televised interview followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “We want an immediate ceasefire so that aid can be delivered to the besieged Gaza Strip,” adding, “We do not want to kill children and hostilities must stop immediately.”.
He added, "There is no safe place in Gaza, and civilians should not be military targets," stressing, "The bombing of hospitals, churches, and civilians is a terrible thing that must stop.".
He pointed out that "the wounded must be allowed to leave for treatment in Egypt," calling for "immediate permission for humanitarian aid to enter the Gaza Strip.".
