Environment Minister calls for green investment in Iraq

    Environment Minister Nizar Amedi called on Friday for green investment in Iraq. 
     
    "Minister of the Environment, Nizar Amedi, met with his Jordanian counterpart, Muawieh Radaideh, on the sidelines of the meetings of the Ninth Conference of Environment Ministers in the Islamic World, which was organized by the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in cooperation with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) under the slogan (Towards achieving a green transformation in the Islamic world) Held in Jeddah on 10/19/2023,” stated Ministry of Environment in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA.
     
    The statement added that "the Israeli aggression against the occupied Palestinian territories, the killing, aggression, violations of the Palestinian people's rights, the breaking of their will and the destruction of their capabilities and property, were discussed during the meeting," affirming," the Iraqi government and people stand by the Palestinian people in achieving their full legitimate rights."
     
    The statement continued, "Bilateral cooperation, the process of joint Arab action, and ways to enhance it between the two countries were reviewed."
     
     The Minister of Environment highlighted "the most important environmental challenges facing Iraq and the country's direction towards a sustainable economy, calling on all parties to invest green in Iraq.  The minster also extended an invitation to his Jordanian counterpart to attend the regional conference scheduled to be held in Baghdad next February.
