The Saudi capital, Riyadh, will host this month the seventh edition of the Future Initiative dedicated to discussing climate change and artificial intelligence.

Today, Thursday, Richard Attias, CEO of the Future Investment Initiative Foundation, held a virtual press conference to talk about the agenda of the seventh edition of the initiative, scheduled to be held during the period from 24 to 26 October 2023, where representatives of 60 international media outlets participated in the conference.

Attias stressed, “The seventh edition of the initiative will discuss important issues including the economic impacts of the conflicts the world is currently experiencing, climate change, and artificial intelligence strategies, at a time when leaders meet to search for common solutions to the largest and most important economic challenges ever.”.

He continued in his speech, "The world is facing a set of unprecedented challenges and it is our duty to use our ability to bring together leaders, investors, innovators and thinkers from around the world in the coming week to identify effective solutions to these issues.".

In his response to questions from international media professionals participating in the conference, he explained that “the Future Investment Initiative Foundation is moving forward as planned, and the current events in the world and in the region in particular have not affected the participants and attendees in general.”.

A number of media outlets also asked about the importance of the presence of Asian, European and American countries in the conference, as Attias confirmed that “the Future Investment Initiative Foundation conference in Riyadh comes within a group of global summits and conferences that are held throughout the year and during which the most prominent economic events are discussed.”.

Attias expressed his view that “investor confidence tends to have long-term expectations and possesses a degree of flexibility in the face of geopolitical shocks,”.

and said: “Short-term expectations may seem worrying, while long-term expectations will be better.”.

Attias briefed the participants on “the program for the seventh edition of the initiative, including the main announcement of the new tool for environmental, social and governance standards for emerging markets.

The program also includes the Energy Summit, the Artificial Intelligence Summit and a set of sessions dedicated to analyzing the economic and social priorities of the world’s citizens,” noting, “The conference will bring together leaders in finance and technology to confront global challenges.”
