The border Ports Authority announced on Thursday ,the seizure of 8 containers violating the import conditions at the northern port of Umm Qasr.
The spokesman of the ports, Alaeddin al-Qaisi, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency ( INA) that "In completion of the qualitative control process carried out by the border ports authority through the exercise of its supervisory role and under the supervision and follow-up of the head of the Ports Authority, Major General Omar Adnan al-waeli, the Directorate of the northern port of Umm Qasr port and in cooperation with the customs office and the Umm Qasr customs police station, containers of (8)size (40) feet containing (mobile devices of various brands amounted to a total of (48340) phones and other miscellaneous perfumes, phone accessories, digital wristwatches, food flavors and electronic accessories) intended for smuggling ."
" Athorough asset seizure report was organized, reinforced with photos, and the materials were referred to the Umm Qasr customs police station to take appropriate legal measures against violators," the statement continued.
