Palestine's permanent representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Muhannad Al-Aklouk, confirmed on Monday that Arab foreign ministers will hold a meeting next Wednesday to discuss the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.
The representative of Palestine indicated in press statements, “submitting a memorandum containing a request to hold an emergency meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of Arab foreign ministers, in an extraordinary session, at the earliest possible date.”
"The meeting aims to discuss ways of political action at the Arab and international levels to stop the Israeli aggression, hold its perpetrators accountable, provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and achieve peace and security based on international law, international legitimacy resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative."
He continued, "The urgent meeting comes in light of the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, including the escalation of the storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by thousands of settlers and Israeli officials, over the past days, under the protection and sponsorship of the extreme right-wing Israeli government, and the subsequent escalation it is unprecedented in the Gaza Strip, and an Israeli aggression against the Strip aims to kill and terrorize civilians and destroy residential towers and Palestinian infrastructure.”
He added, "The delegation requests the esteemed General Secretariat to quickly take the necessary measures to circulate this memorandum to the delegations of the member of states, and to work to hold the required meeting as quickly as possible."
